FROM "DHAK DHAK GO" TO "HUM MEIN HAI HERO"

From "Dhak, Dhak go", Hero MotoCorp's new theme will be "Hum Main Hai Hero"- there is a hero in each one of us.

A.R.Rahman has composed the music for the theme song, as Hero MotoCorp embarks on a new journey, after it terminated its 26-year-long association with Honda Motor Company of Japan.

The new brand, according to Mr Pawan Munjal, Managing Director and CEO, Hero MotoCorp, epitomizes continuity and change.

The new logo stands for the new face of India - that youthful energy and can do spirit.

Under the new licence agreement, the Hero group signed with Honda after terminating the agreement, it can continue to use the Hero Honda name in its products till 2014.

Hero MotoCorp already launched a 110cc scooter 'Maestro' and a 150cc motorcycle 'Impulse' under its own Hero Brand.

The company's exports to new markets will be under the Hero name, while those to the existing markets of Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Columbia will continue to be under the Hero Honda brand.

The company is planning to start 2 new plants. One will be in South India and the other will be in the west.

The company is planning annual sales of 10 million units and annual turnover of $10 billion in the next five to six years.

In 2010-11, the company sold 5,402,444 units and reported a turnover of Rs.19,245 crore.

It also exported about 1.5 lakh units during the year, to Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Columbia.

Today the share price of Hero MotoCorp closed at Rs.1883.95, Rs.30.55 in green (NSE).
